Bagridae catfish are found in both Asia and Africa; containing over 200 species ranging is size from 30mm SL to over 600mm SL and can be found in many diverse habitats, from alkaline lakes to small acidic ditches and from flowing hill streams to some of the largest river systems in the world.
Many of the larger species are for the most part only suitable for the ‘single species or even single specimen large aquaria; whereas the smaller species are ideal for the community aquarium. Although I will be covering most of the smaller to mid sized Bagrid’s in general, I will also include data sheets on a few of the larger species from time to time.
